WASHINGTON: US have announced to sell 8 state of the art F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan.

A leading US newspaper while referring to US official said that Obama administration has decided to sell 8 state of the art F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan and Congress has been informed on this count. However it is not clear that announcement in this regard will be made during Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif visit or otherwise. 

US leading news paper said the supply of jet fighters is aimed at broadening partnership between the two countries. Pakistan is having  over 70 F-16 fighter jets currently
